Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week
This Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), Five One Labs was proud to highlight the entrepreneurial spirit driving innovation and community development across the regions we serve. With events in Colombia, Iraq, and the U.S., we witnessed the incredible power of individuals to shape their own futures while contributing to a global entrepreneurial movement.
Entrepreneurs Leading Change Across Borders
At the heart of our mission are entrepreneurs who bring vision, resilience, and creativity to every challenge. In Colombia, local and migrant innovators worked on refining their business ideas through our Ignite Innovation workshop. This session used design thinking to prepare participants for larger opportunities like Ignite 2025, showcasing the intersection of creativity and strategy.
In Iraq, entrepreneurs pitched tech-enabled solutions at our Startup Spotlight competition, receiving expert feedback and resources to scale their ideas. The Emotional Intelligence and Entrepreneurial Mindset workshop highlighted the critical role of personal leadership skills in navigating the complexities of business.
Meanwhile, in Raleigh, North Carolina, immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs debuted their businesses at the Business Bloom Demo Day. These founders not only demonstrate the potential of small businesses to transform local economies but also redefined what it means to innovate in new cultural contexts.
A Shared Vision for Innovation
What unites these efforts is a shared commitment to creating opportunities where they are needed most. Whether it's through pitching to investors, connecting with mentors, or launching new ventures, Five One Labs provides the platform, but the entrepreneurs themselves bring the determination, creativity and drive that make these programs impactful.
Global Entrepreneurship Week reminds us that innovation transcends borders, fostering connections that amplify individual contributions into a worldwide force for good. From tech startups in Iraq to sustainable ventures in Colombia and thriving immigrant-led businesses in the U.S., this week is a celebration of the people who turn challenges into opportunities and ideas into realities, making clear that entrepreneurship is for everyone.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on this year’s theme for GEW, we remain inspired by the leaders and changemakers we have the privilege of working with every day. Their work reaffirms our belief in the transformative potential of entrepreneurship and the importance of nurturing ecosystems that allow innovation to flourish.
