Five One Labs Welcomes New Executive Director

Five One Labs today announced that Patricia Letayf, cofounder and former Director of Operations of Five One Labs, is rejoining the organization as its new Executive Director. Alice Bosley, current Executive Director, will be taking on a new role as the President of the Board of Directors. These leadership changes will take effect on September 9th.

Over more than seven years, Alice has been a driving force behind Five One Labs in her role as the Executive Director, running Five One Labs’ first entrepreneurship programs in Iraq, where she lived for 5 years, and leading the expansion of programs across the country. In 2022, the nonprofit expanded to its second country, Colombia, and completed entrepreneurship pilot programs for refugees in Brazil and the United States. While her day-to-day role is changing, Alice is not stepping away from Five One Labs’ mission and vision. She is proud to become the new President of the Board of Five One Labs and will additionally lead a pilot for Five One Labs in partnership with the city of Raleigh, in the United States (where she is based), this fall.

“This is an exciting next step for our organization, and I know Patricia will bring her sharp mind, boundless energy and deep empathy to Five One Labs as we enter our next phase of growth and impact,” said Alice. “Having co-founded this organization together, I know firsthand how focused Patricia is on our mission and vision of supporting impressive, yet overlooked entrepreneurs to build innovative startups. I cannot think of anyone better suited for the role, and I am delighted to welcome her into her new position.”

A Lebanese-American whose family was displaced during the Lebanese civil war, Patricia Letayf deeply understands the value and talent brought by immigrants and refugees when they resettle in a new location. In her career, Patricia brought this passion to life through her work at Tufts’ Institute for Global Leadership and as an Analyst at Control Risks in Dubai. She co-founded Five One Labs with Alice in graduate school as a pathway for innovative, often overlooked young people in the Middle East and globally to build meaningful, dignified livelihoods using their existing skills and talents. During Patricia’s tenure as the Director of Operations for Five One Labs, she built a strong track record of leading teams and activating communities to great impact.

In her role as the new Executive Director, Patricia will oversee all aspects of the organization’s strategy, operations and global team, and will spearhead the expansion of Five One Labs work to support even more incredible entrepreneurs globally. Patricia lives in London, UK with her husband Andrew.

“I am thrilled to join Five One Labs in this role and build upon the incredible foundation that has been established,” said Patricia Letayf. “I look forward to working with our talented team, ecosystem partners and the entrepreneurs to continue fostering innovation and economic opportunity through entrepreneurship and to scale the impact we have in the countries we operate and beyond. In this way, Five One Labs can continue to be a leader in providing innovation, sustainable solutions to the communities we work in”

Together, this transition marks an exciting new chapter for Five One Labs as it continues to scale its impact and support of innovative entrepreneurs around the world in launching and growing their businesses. The organization is confident that Patricia’s vision and leadership will propel Five One Labs to new heights, while Alice’s continued involvement will ensure a seamless transition and sustained impact.
