Startup Spotlight: Freemium
Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing you to the graduates of our Youth Incubator program! And this time we are introducing Jihad Baqi, founder of Freemium.
I’m Jihad, a 23-year-old entrepreneur and Software Engineer. I believe in innovation and improving our community with new ideas, I have previously been in a couple of startups, and I have seen and learned a lot about businesses. Now I am starting my own business.
My business idea is communication and service providing mobile application and system, which connects service providers to users and makes data utilization for apartment managers easier. These include solving the lack of record-keeping in apartments and gated communities, finding, scheduling, contacting service providers, gated community tenant-management communication, and many other problems.
It has been a satisfying journey; It is like having a baby, you want everything to be perfect for the baby (business), you want to spend as much as time on it to make it work and to represent it as good as possible, I have met and encountered many types of people, I have learned how to start the business, build a good base for it, communicate and negotiate to make it work even at most challenging times.
Be logical, do solid market research and many interviews with people, listen carefully to every feedback you receive, and no matter how hard the situation might seem or be, Always look for solutions, never give up on any opportunity.
I joined the incubator with a simple idea, hoping to develop it and grow it into a more advanced business, and yes, here we are!
I did my market research, designed my application, created logos, and my app is currently under development.
