Karam Saridar is the CEO of Manahil El Ryan, established in August 2014 as a consumer electronics distributor and official distributor of Samsung Electronics. In this capacity, Karam successfully oversaw the expansion of the business with the launch of “Elryan” brand products as well as through the re-introduction of Sony products to Iraq after Manahil El Ryan became their exclusive distribute in 2019.

In 2014, Karam launched Elryan.com, Iraq’s first online shopping website selling electronics. The business expanded rapidly, with double digit growth month on month, and now offers tens of thousands of items from hundreds of brands, in a wide range of product categories. Today, Elryan.com is the leader in e-commerce in Iraq, and is investing heavily on building world-class infrastructure and human capital that will drive the future of the country’s digital economy.

Prior to joining Manahil El Ryan, Karam spent 4 years as General Manager of Dar El Ryan, the exclusive distributor of LG air conditioners in Iraq, where he gained his experience in the industry. Karam graduated with honours from the University of Bath in 2008 with a MSc in Management, having previously completed his BSc in Economics.
