ABOUT WOMEN IN TECH AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT
In celebration of International Women's Day, the Women in Tech and Entrepreneurship Summit is designed to bring together inspiring female leaders and innovators to explore opportunities for women in technology and entrepreneurship in Iraq. This event is sponsored by by the American University of Iraq - Sulaimani, Google Developer Group and Zain Iraq, and is organised by Five One Labs and Re:Coded.
Through inspirational keynotes, panel discussions on technology and entrepreneurship, and skills and career development workshops, this event provides all the content and networking opportunities for females to flourish in the tech and startup sectors in Iraq. Key topics the panel will discuss include the digital gender gap, opportunities and challenges in the tech and startup sectors in Iraq and the importance of role models to inspire more women to enter the world of technology and entrepreneurship!

3-4:30pm: Workshop 1 - Intro to Coding: Create an Android App
Create your first Android application!
During our introductory workshop, you'll explore the basics of the Java programming language and XML. By writing your own lines of code, you’ll cover key coding terms and principles and develop a simple Android application
Prerequisites & Preparation
No previous programming experience is required. A laptop with Android Studio downloaded is required in order to participate in this workshop.
3-4:30pm: Workshop 2- Launching your Startup
Do you have an idea for a business or project? Learn how to start it up!
During this introductory entrepreneurship workshop, you will interview customers, brainstorm innovative solutions, and develop a prototype of a potential business idea, all during the two hours. You will also be introduced to the Business Model Canvas and learn how to develop a testable business model.
