Orange Corners - Erbil Startup Incubator

In our Incubator, our proprietary entrepreneurship training program consists of practical training sessions delivered over four months. These trainings fall into three tracks: “Design, Build and Lead.”

The program weaves these content themes throughout the program, with a greater emphasis on “Design” in the beginning, “Build” being integrated at every stage and “Lead” being emphasized toward the latter stage.

  • The design track focuses on design thinking and lean startup processes of user research, prototype, and regular iteration, and leads the entrepreneur through the process of starting a business.

  • Build teaches hard business skills, including strategy, operations and financial management, and gives the entrepreneur the fundamentals to lead a company.

  • Lead centers on personal and team leadership and resilience.

The incubator will accept 20 to 24 participants, catering to the best startup ideas in the region, helping them launch and be market-ready.

Who is qualified?

To be eligible for the Incubator program, entrepreneurs must meet the following criteria:

  • Creativity and Innovation: We assess whether the idea is tech or tech-enabled and whether it offers a new product or service to the market or uses a novel approach to solve a problem.

  • Market and Customer Understanding: We evaluate the applicant’s understanding of their market and target customers.

  • Entrepreneur’s Background: We consider if the entrepreneur has the relevant skills to successfully launch the business and their openness to feedback.

  • Progress: While entrepreneurs can enter with only an idea, we also consider the progress achieved by the applicant to date. An entrepreneur who can demonstrate some traction, has a minimum viable product, or shows their seriousness about launching their startup or recently established business will be considered favorably.
