Future of Gen Z in the Middle East: Role and Responsibility | 2nd Edition of Erbil Forum
In a partnership with Rudaw Research Center, Five One Labs co-organized a roundtable discussion titled “Future of Gen Z in the Middle East: Role and Responsibility.” The event hosted young business founders, stakeholders, and influential individuals from the local and international ecosystems. discussing the role and responsibilities of youth in the entrepreneurial and economic context and finding ways to push forward toward a better Middle East. The roundtable also included academics that explored the topics from an educational point of view.
The roundtable focused on the challenges and opportunities that Generation Z faces in the region and how they can benefit from technological advancements, such as AI and drones, to create new jobs and industries that never existed before. The participants tried to answer the question of whether these new technologies are a threat to the job market or an opportunity to adapt and give more people jobs in these new industries.
The participants highlighted the need for youth to work together to build a robust and sustainable regional future. The participants agreed that the previous generation needs to consider the next generation more, as they are filled with new ideas.
The roundtable also touched on the necessity of mentorship and support for young entrepreneurs. Participants showcased young people's need for funding and guidance from experienced community leaders. They emphasized the importance of supporting the creation of innovative and entrepreneurial culture to help grow the economy.
Five One Labs is committed to hearing the next generation of leaders of Iraq first-hand to understand their concerns and help them materialize their innovative ideas.
In conclusion, the roundtable was an opportunity to explore the future of entrepreneurs of Generation Z in the region and develop a network of innovators and creative minds to leverage the chances we have in creating a better environment for the next generations to come in the Middle East.
