Meet the Founder: Hasara Ismail Khayiat

Hasara graduated from the American University of Iraq- Sulaimanyah (AUIS) with a Business Administration major.

She has worked in several Internation NGOs in Kurdistan Region. Also, she is interested in working in Humanitarian Sectors, and her hobbies are fashion and styling.

Nakhsh is a Kurdish clothing brand founded in 2019 by two siblings Hayas and Hasara Ismail Khayat, to show uniqueness through fashion. The brand combines the latest trends and the Kurdish culture. Our mission is to turn Kurdish art's originality into a part of the modern lifestyle. After graduating from business school, both had the ambition to create something different that reflects the uniqueness of every person. Khayat means tailor in the Kurdish language, and the family always had tailors among it. The grandfather was a famous tailor in Khanqen, a small town east of Iraq. Ismail Khayat, their father, is an artist renowned for using many colors and patterns in his artworks, each of which represents something different. These are the inspiration of Nakhsh. Our goal is to introduce and expand Nakhsh as a Kurdish Brand to outside the country and overall the world.
